Registration Now Open for Youth Classes in Etiquette, Art and Day Camps

AUBURN, Wash. – May 27, 2011 – Young ladies and gentlemen aged 6-11 are invited to join a fun hands-on manners workshop that teaches telephone etiquette, basic table manners, introductions, personal care and posture and girls aged 9-11 will want to take advantage of Pre-Teen Style to learn how true style and confidence shines from the inside out and enables you to be a leader. Youth aged 7-13 will love the new and exciting Art Around the World Camp to learn how the great masters used color, light and form in their work and a variety of specialty camps are also being offered throughout the summer that are sure to be of interest to youth of all ages.

The Young Ladies and Gentlemen etiquette workshop will be from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., class fee is $35 for Auburn residents/$44 non-residents. Each student receives a ‘goodie bag’ to take home. Pre-Teen Style is from 12:45-4:45 p.m. Girls will learn valuable communication skills, party manners, ways to develop great friendships, maintain a positive attitude, and tips on posture, clothing and nutrition, and steps to great skin as you give yourself a facial. Class fee is $47 for Auburn residents/$59 non-residents. Both workshops take place on July 9 at the Parks, Arts & Recreation Administration Building located at 910 Ninth St. SE.

Children, ages 7-13 can explore and create their own masterful works of art in Art Around the World Camp. Students will learn from the masters and then create their own works and work together on a special mural project. Materials will be provided but are welcome to bring their own sketchbooks and supplies if desired. Camp meets Monday-Thursday, June 27-30, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Parks, Arts & Recreation Administration Building. Camp fee is $160 for Auburn Residents/$200 non-residents.

If that’s not enough, then look into the fun this summer in our Summer Day Camp for elementary school age children entering 1st-5th grade. Children are cared for in a supervised, caring atmosphere with unlimited opportunities to participate in arts and crafts, games, cultural activities, field trips, cookouts and swimming. There is also a variety of Specialty Camps are also being like Youth Art Camp, Fairytale Ballet Camps, Hansel and Gretel Ballet Camp, Gymnastic Camps, Sports Camps and more.

Camp is based out of Terminal Park Elementary from June 27-Aug. 26 and operates from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. with extended hours available from 6:30-9 a.m. and 4-6:30 p.m. Extended hours included in camp fee. Camp fees are $165 for Auburn Residents/$207 non-residents per week. Fee for the week of July 5-8 is $130/$163. Reserve a spot in camp with a non-refundable/non-transferable $20 deposit. Deposits are applied to the session fee when paid in full six business days prior to each session.
