Auburn City Hall Gallery Presents the Artwork of High School Student ArtistsContact: Maija McKnight, Art Coordinator FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: December 12, 2011 AUBURN, Wash. – December 12, 2011 – The artwork of talented Auburn School District High School Students will be on display at the City Hall Gallery through Jan. 30, 2012. Fifty artworks are on display showcasing photography, painting, collage, sculpture, computer art and jewelry all created by talented Auburn School District high school students. Submission of artwork on display was open to all High School aged students in Auburn. The majority of participation is from students of Auburn Mountainview, Auburn High School and Auburn Riverside coordinated through dedicated staff and teachers. “This display provides our youth with local, community connections to Art and artists In Auburn," notes Gina Sandland, Visual Art instructor at Auburn Riverside. "Our goal is to support and encourage our youth to pursue continued artistic and creative opportunities beyond the walls of our schools.” This showcase of student work is a unique opportunity for students to see their artwork in a gallery setting as well as the chance for the public to view the artwork of talented youth. An opening reception will be hosted on Wednesday, December 14 from 4-6 p.m. and is open to the public. The Auburn City Hall Gallery is presented by the City of Auburn and Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation.
