AUBURN, Wash. – September 12, 2011 – The City of Auburn recently negotiated a six year solid waste contract with Waste Management, Inc. This contract affects the solid waste billing and service levels for a portion of Auburn’s West Hill.

Beginning Oct. 1, residents in this area currently receiving solid waste services by Waste Management will now be billed by the City of Auburn. As part of the new contract terms, Waste Management will continue to provide solid waste services, but will discontinue billing customers directly.

As part of the negotiated contract, customers will now receive: recycle collection at no additional cost, no container rental fees, more frequent yard waste collection and monthly billing.

Customers currently receiving service from Allied Waste are not affected by these changes.

For more information on solid waste services in Auburn, contact a customer service representative at 253-931-3038, email recycling@auburnwa.gov or visit www.auburnwa.gov/solidwaste.
