Funny Man Frank Ferrante as Groucho Marx bringing laughs to Auburn, Film Series Begins Sept. 22Contact: Maija McKnight An Evening With Groucho WHAT: BRAVO presents Marx Brothers Film Series: Duck Soup (1933), Animal Crackers (1930) and Copacabana (1947) and An Evening With Groucho AUBURN, Wash. - September 19, 2011 - American comedian, film star and “funniest man ever”, Groucho Marx will be causing uproarious laughter at the Auburn Performing Arts Center, Saturday, October 1 at 7:30 p.m. Frank Ferrante, the only Marx-family sanctioned Groucho performer, will be performing his hilarious, award-winning, one man show An Evening With Groucho. Join the hilarity leading up to the live performance in our Marx Brothers Film Fest starting Sept. 22. Ferrante recreates his PBS, New York and London acclaimed portrayal of legendary comedian Groucho Marx. This fast-paced, 90-minute performance consists of the best Grouch one-liners, anecdotes, songs and improv to bring to life an unnervingly authentic Groucho. Accompanied by his onstage pianist, Jim Furmston, Ferrante portrays the young Groucho of stage and film and reacquaints us with the likes of brothers Harpo, Chico, Zeppo and Gummo. The flim fest will include Duck Soup (Sept. 22), Animal Crackers (Sept. 24), and Copacabana (Sept. 29). All show times are 7:30 p.m. at the Auburn Avenue Theater. Film tickets are $3 each.
