Auburn Launches Residential Online Permit ToolFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 1, 2011 Contact: Jeff Tate, Development Services Manager AUBURN, Wash. – September 1, 2011 – Beginning today, applicants for residential plumbing and mechanical permits are able to apply, pay for, and obtain their permits online. The new feature can be accessed at the City's online service portal Check Auburn under the "I want to apply for..." section and choosing "building permit". More residential permitting options are expected to be added to the service soon. This new online tool is the result of a collaborative work effort between the City of Auburn’s Information Services Department and Planning and Development Department to make obtaining permits from the City of Auburn easier and more convenient. “This service continues the City’s efforts to make more of its services available to our citizens online," says Auburn Mayor Pete Lewis. "In a time when cost and efficiency are more important than ever, we want to continue helping people save time and money and make accessing City services more readily availalbe for our customers.” The City expects multiple benefits for its customers and created the tool to provide streamlined permit reviews, create time and cost savings for customer project bidding and work, and decrease greenhouse gas emissions by reducing the need to drive to City Hall to apply for a permit and eliminate the need for unnecessary printing of paper documents. For more information on the City of Auburn’s permit services, please contact Jeff Tate, Development Services Manager, City of Auburn Planning and Development Department, at 253-804-5036 or jtate@auburnwa.gov. # # # City of Auburn Mayor’s Office |
