AUBURN, Wash. – December 8, 2011 - Residents who live within the city limits of Auburn and have Waste Management or Allied Waste Services for garbage service can recycle their Christmas trees and organic wreaths for no additional cost. Murrey’s Disposal customers who live within the city limits of Auburn and who have yard waste service may place their Christmas tree into their yard waste cart at no additional cost.
If you live outside of the Auburn city limits (Auburn in unincorporated King County), contact your garbage and recycling hauler for Christmas tree recycling information.
Pick up dates are as follows:
Waste Management:
Single-family, duplex and mobile home parks residents: Pick up will be the week of Jan. 2-6, 2012, on your garbage day. Set your trees on the curbside by 7 a.m.
Multifamily residents: Pick up will be the weeks of Jan. 2-6 & 9-13, 2012. Property Owner or Site Manager must call Waste Management, (800) 592-9995, to schedule a pickup day and pickup site.
Allied Waste Services:
Single-family and duplex residents: Pick up will be the week of Jan. 2-6, 2012, on your garbage collection day. Set your trees on the curbside by 6 a.m.
Multifamily residents: Pick up will be the week of Jan. 2-6, 2012. Property Owner or Site Manager must call Allied Waste Services, (206) 682-9735, to schedule a pickup day and pickup site.
Murrey’s Disposal:
Residents: Place tree, cut into 3 pieces, into your yard waste cart. Place cart out by 6 a.m. during the month of January 2012, on your yard waste collection day. Residents must have yard waste service to participate. Residents who do not have yard waste service can participate for a fee. Contact Murrey’s at 253-414-0345 for details.
GUIDELINES
- Tree trunks should be no wider than 4” in diameter and must be cut into 3 foot lengths and weigh no more than 65 lbs. each piece. (Murrey’s Disposal customers must put tree in their yard waste cart)
- Please remove all garland, tinsel and ornaments
- No flocked trees or other debris will be accepted; limit 1 tree per household.
