New Traffic Signal Installation at W. Main St. and West Valley Highway will Improve Traffic Flow

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE; February 10, 2012

AUBURN, Wash. – February 10, 2012—The City of Auburn will be incorporating flashing yellow arrows for the left turn movements as part of the traffic signal improvements at West Main St. and West Valley Highway. The installation of the new signal in Auburn is planned to be activated Wednesday Feb. 15.

A flashing yellow arrow indication means left turns are permitted, with caution, after yielding to oncoming traffic and pedestrians. The new flashing yellow arrow replaces and has the same meaning as the current green ball indication for yielding left turns, but does not replace the meaning of the solid yellow arrow.

More information on the operations and benefits of the flashing yellow arrow can be found on the City's website.
