Sue Singer

Sue Singer was elected to the Auburn City Council in 1995 and is currently serving her fourth term. Her current council committee assignments are Public Works, Downtown Redevelopment, and the Community Center Committee. Sue was elected by the City Council to serve as Deputy Mayor, to take the Mayor’s place when he is unavailable.

In addition, Singer serves as President of the Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC), the Federal Metropolitan Planning Organization doing long range planning for transportation, growth management and economic development in Snohomish, King, Pierce and Kitsap counties. She has served on the governing board of the PSRC for 13 years as a delegate from the King County Suburban Cities Association, representing 800,000 people. She also chairs the Auburn Tourism Board, promoting Auburn as a tourist destination.

While serving on the Auburn City Council, she has also represented Auburn citizens on the Lea Hill Annexation Task Force, the Auburn Downtown Master Plan Task Force, and the Pierce County Regional Council. She previously served on the Auburn Library Board, the Auburn Planning Commission, and the Mayor's Task Force on Teen Pregnancy Prevention.

Singer is a member and past president of Soroptimist International of Auburn. She and her husband Lee have resided in Auburn since 1978. Their two sons are also raising their families in Auburn, and they enjoy spending time with their 4 grandchildren.
