Bill PelozaBill Peloza was elected to serve on the Auburn City Council for a term beginning January 2004 through December 2007 and was re-elected for a second term in January 2008 through December 2011. Bill is Chair of the Municipal Services Committee and Vice Chair of the Public Works Committee and has served on the Finance Committee and LEOFF Board. In addition, Bill serves on the following Regional Committees: National League of Cities; Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Steering Committee; King County Regional Water Quality Committee (RWQC) and is the RWQC Caucus Chair of the Suburban Cities Association; King County Metropolitan Solid Waste Advisory Committee; King County Metropolitan Water Pollution Abatement Advisory Committee and King County Water Resource Inventory Area (WRIA 9 - Green/Duwamish & Central Puget Sound Watershed) Management and Watershed Ecosystem Forum (Co-Chair) Committees; and Bill serves as an alternate member to the King County Flood Control District Advisory Committee. As a Council Project, Bill organized the Auburn International Farmers Market (AIFM) after nearly 2 years of planning. The market concluded its successful 3rd Season in September 2011 at the Sound Transit Station in Downtown Auburn. The AIFM Board is planning the 4th Season to begin in June 1012. Bill attended the University of Washington School of Business and UCLA, specializing in Government Contract Management. He retired from The Boeing Company in 1995 after 38 years of service. Bill’s professional career was in Contracts Management with emphasis in finance/budgets, cost and schedule performance and contract negotiations. Bill is active in the following organizations: member & Past Board Director - Auburn Rotary Club; member & Past Trustee - Auburn Sons of Italy Lodge #1955; member & Past Trustee of Auburn Elks Lodge #1808 and member & Commander of Auburn VFW Post 1741. Former organizational activates included: Chair of the Auburn Airport Advisory Board; White River Valley Museum Board of Directors; ACAP Board of Directors; Auburn Symphony Association; Boeing Management Association President (retirees). In addition, Bill served as President of the Green River Men’s Golf Club and Auburn Youth Soccer Club; South King County Soccer Referees Association Commissioner; Junior Achievement Advisory Member & Instructor; Chinook Elementary School PTA Membership Co-Chair and Des Moines Jaycees President. Bill is a Washington native, U.S. Navy veteran (Korean conflict) and member of Holy Family Church. He and his wife Joyce live on Lea Hill. Their two adult children reside out of state.
