Largo Wales

Dr. Largo Wales began her term to the Auburn City Council in 2012. She serves on Pierce County Cities & Towns, Pierce County Regional Council, Tacoma-Pierce County Board of Health, King County Board of Health, Seattle King County Board of Health Environmental Health Fees, and the King County Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC).

A lifelong learner and educator, she holds a Bachelor of Arts from Washington State University, a Master of Arts from the University of Puget Sound, a Doctorate from Seattle University, an AA as a Paralegal, and Postdoctoral studies from Columbia University with emphases in education, leadership, business and law. She is retired from the Auburn School District where she was the Executive Director of Special Services and Federal Programs.

Wales was a Fulbright Scholar, a former Auburn Reporter Person of the Year and received an Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce Citizen Recognition honor. She comes to the council with a wide range of community leadership experiences having served as Auburn Youth Resources Board President, Kiwanis President, Auburn Food Bank President, works with Auburn Communities In Schools, served as the interim Executive Director for ACAP Child & Family Services and is an active campaigner for Auburn School District levies and bonds. 

She has lived in Auburn for 35 years, is married and has a daughter who graduated from the University of Washington and is now in the Seattle University Law School.
