Council Subcommittees
The Council has seven standing committees: Finance, Municipal Services, Planning and Community Development, Public Works, Les Gove Community Campus, and Council Operations. The Committees' meeting schedules, Council membership and functions are described below:
Finance Committee
- Meets: First and third Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in Conference Room 1 in the City Hall Annex, located at 1 East Main Street in Auburn.
- Members: John Partridge, Chair; John Holman, Vice Chair; Largo Wales, member.
- Function: Monitors fiscal activities of the City, develops policies relating to finance, human resources, municipal court, legal, Information Services and real property.
Municipal Services Committee
- Meets: Second and fourth Monday of each month at 3:00 p.m. in Conference Room 3, located on the second floor of Auburn City Hall.
- Members: Bill Peloza, Chair; Wayne Osborne, Vice Chair; Largo Wales, member.
- Function: Makes recommendations on policies relating to police, solid waste, airport, annexation, golf course, cemetery, animal control, telecommunications and cable TV.
Planning & Community Development Committee
- Meets: Second and fourth Monday of each month at 5 p.m. in conference Room 2 in the City Hall Annex, located at 1 East Main Street in Auburn.
- Members: Nancy Backus, Chair; John Partridge, Vice Chair; John Holman, member.
- Function: Makes recommendations on policies relating to land use and zoning; code enforcement, building permits, annexation, economic development, human services, parks and recreation; cultural arts, museum, Mary Olson Farm, senior center, King County Library liaison, communications and community services.
Public Works Committee
- Meets: First and third Monday of each month at 3:30 p.m. in conference Room 2 in the City Hall Annex, located at 1 East Main Street in Auburn.
- Members: Rich Wagner, Chair; Bill Peloza, Vice Chair; Wayne Osborne, member.
- Function: Makes recommendations on policies relating to water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, transportation (streets), right-of-way use, engineering, maintenance and operations; and equipment rental.
Other committees:
Les gove community Campus Committee
- Meets: The second Monday of each month at 5 p.m. in Council Chambers located at Auburn City Hall
- Members: Rich Wagner, Chair; Largo Wales, Vice Chair; Wayne Osborne, member.
- Function: Makes recommendations on policies regarding Les Gove capital projects, operating policies and Boys & Girls Club.
Council Operations Committee
- Meets: First Monday of each month at 5 p.m. in Room 2 located on the second floor of City Hall
- Members: Nancy Backus, Chair; Rich Wagner, Vice Chair; Bill Peloza, member.
- Function: Responsible for council committee structure, membership and operating policies.
Council Operations Committee
- Meets: The fifth Monday of each month at 5 p.m. in Council Chambers located at City Hall
- Members: Nancy Backus, Chair; Rich Wagner, Vice Chair
- Function: Meets to discuss broad implications issues; no council vote taken
