AUBURN, Wash. – May 9, 2008 - Beginning Tuesday, April 29, the City of Auburn Water Department will be flushing fire hydrants to test the water distribution system for approximately three weeks. This testing will provide the City with information needed to continue to provide safe and adequate water service for both domestic and fire protection purposes.

King County Presents $1.25 Million Check to City of Auburn

AUBURN, Wash. - February 12, 2008 - Mayor Pete Lewis was presented a giant version of a $1.25 million check from King County to help pay for expenses related to annexing 4,000 acres of land and 15,000 new residents from unincorporated King County. Lea Hill Sanitary Sewer Project Update

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Courses Scheduled in Auburn

AUBURN , Wash. - July 18, 2007 - The City of Auburn Emergency Management Office, in conjunction the White River Valley Citizen Corps Council and the Valley Regional Fire Authority, will offer two Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training courses to area residents. WSDOT Selects Contractor to Construct State's First HOT Lanes

AUBURN, Wash. – July 13, 2007 - WSDOT awarded a contract to Signal Electric, Inc. of Kent for a competitive bid of $7,087,088 to build the SR 167 HOT Lanes Pilot Project, which will convert nine miles of SR 167 high occupancy vehicle lanes to high occupancy toll lanes between Renton and Auburn. The SR 167 HOT Lanes Pilot Project will allow solo drivers to pay a toll to use the HOV lanes. Construction begins in mid-July, and the project opens to traffic in the spring of 2008.

Update on Recently Planted Laurel Hedge in Auburn

AUBURN, Wash. – May 25, 2007 – Parks officials are now at the two week mark from the 2007 Clean Sweep planting project that took place on May 12. The project planted more than 1,300 English Laurels to create a hedge on the 1.8 mile stretch of A Street SE in Auburn, Wash. Passersby may notice that some of the leaves on the plants are turning yellow. The yellow leaves are last year’s leaves and new growth will produce new leaves in their place.
