Parks

Now is the perfect time to get active and visit Auburn's outstanding park system. With many spectacular views of Mount Rainier, Auburn has an extensive system of parks, open space and urban trails comprised of 28 developed parks, over 23 miles of trails (including Auburn's 4.5 mile portion of the Inter-urban Trail for bikers, walkers, runners and skaters), and almost 247 acres of open space for passive and active recreation.

News of Note

New Golf Course Clubhouse Under Construction

The new clubhouse will feature a 110-seat restaurant and lounge with a large outdoor patio, 150-seat banquet facility, proshop and lobby. Storage for up to 70 golf carts will be in the basement. Other improvements will include a 12 stall driving range as well as parking expansion to 194 stalls. The project will be completed in late summer 2007.

New facility to be completed at Veterans Memorial Park

A new 1,928 sq. foot building will have the capacity for 85 people and includes a galley area with a sink, headquarters for the American Legion Auburn Post #78, and a satellite office for the King County Department of Veterans Affairs. The building will also be available for rentals.

Pre-sales underway for niches at Mountain View Cemetery

Construction of a new 682 square-foot columbarium will add even more choices for families choosing a final resting place for their loved one or individuals making pre-arrangements for their own cemetery needs. The building is scheduled to be complete in late spring of 2007.
