Auburn JailThe Auburn City Jail is located at 25 West Main St. and consists of one Commander, two Corrections Supervisors, two Home Detention Officers, and nine Corrections Officers. Currently, the daily population hovers around 130 inmates. Auburn prisoners may also be housed at the King County Jail and the Yakima County Jail. Like most correctional facilities in Washington State, Auburn faces daily over-crowding. The Auburn City Jail was built in 1979 with a total bed capacity of 13 and a staff of five Corrections Officers. The jail was later expanded to hold 51 inmates in a total of five housing units. In 1980, the jail housed a daily population of 8 inmates. We are dedicated to providing professional care, custody and control based upon integrity, competence, cooperation and mutual respect among co-workers, other agencies, inmates and the public we serve |
