Youth Sport League

The Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Department offers various seasonal sport leagues for kids who attend a public or private school in the Auburn School District or Dieringer School District boundaries, including all Auburn street addresses. Participants must play in grade level in which they are currently in school (i.e. player are not allowed to move up or down a grade level). A summary of each activity is included below. Fall Sponsorship Form

Spring/Summer Sponsorship Form

Youth Soccer (Grades K-8) (Spanish Flyer) (Certificate)

This fall program begin in mid-September and continues through early to mid November. Registration deadline is first Wednesday of August. Boys are girls play in separate leagues. Each player receives a T-shirt and a ball.

T-Ball (for grades pre-k and Kindergarten) (Certificate)

For Children who will be entering Kindergarten in the Fall of the current year and for those who are currently in Kindergarten. T-ball is a co-ed instructional team sports program emphasizing sportsmanship and fundamentals in a fun-filled atmosphere. T-ball is a six-week program that meets on Mondays and Wednesdays; this includes practices and games. Early registration is due the first Wednesday of May. Registrations after that date are assessed an additional $10. We do not move children up or down leagues due to ability levels, they will be place in their current grade level only. T-ball generally starts the week after school gets out.

Cub Clinic (Coach Pitch for 1st and 2nd grade) (Certificate)

Cub Clinic is co-ed instructional machine pitch program emphasizing sportsmanship and fundamentals in a fun-filled atmosphere. Cub Clinic is a six-week program that meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays; this includes practices and games. Early registration is due on the first Wednesday of May. Registrations after that date are assessed an additional $10. We do not move children up or down leagues due to ability levels, they will be place in their current grade level only. Cub Clinic generally starts the week after school gets out.

Baseball & Girls Fastpitch (Options for 3rd - 12th grade)

Youth Track & Field

The Auburn Parks and Recreation Department Youth Track & Field program is a recreational program for boys and girls in grades 1 through 8. It includes a variety of running and field events. Sportsmanship, conditioning, leadership, and confidence are reinforced. Participants will learn the proper fundamentals of track and field events in a fun-filled atmosphere and get an opportunity to compete with other kids in various meets in Auburn and other neighboring cities. Early registration is due on the first Wednesday in May. Registrations after that date are assessed an additional $10. T-shirt uniforms will be provided.

Youth Flag Football (Grades 4-8)

The program is an all-pass league with no contact. League games may include travel to surrounding area.

Girls Volleyball (Grades 4-8)

League games may include travel to surrounding area.

Youth Wrestling (Ages 6-8 and 9-12 years)

The Auburn junior wrestling team is one of 18 members of the Pierce County Junior Wrestling League. League competition will be a combination of round robin tournaments and dual meets, usually 5 per season. There are also optional tournaments (with additional fees) on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. Wrestling is a competitive sport by nature but children will learn to win and lose with dignity and good sportsmanship.

Youth Tennis (Ages 8-13)

Youth tennis lessons are for those aged 8-13 and are held June through August. Beginner and intermediate players are welcome. Those 14 and older may participate in the adult lessons. In the event of cancellation due to rain, make-up classes are announced by the instructor. Registrants are required to supply their own tennis racket and one can of tennis balls.
