Ave Kids

Auburn AVE Kids showcases local, regional and national acts and touring presentations with an emphasis on audiences ages 4 through 12 and their parents, families, or friends. Most AVE Kids performances take place at Auburn Avenue Theater, located at 10 Auburn Ave, unless otherwise noted.

The AVE Kids performances are included as part of the City's overall BRAVO Performing Arts Season. Purchase several performances together and you are eligible for a discount! For details, view ticket and ordering information.

What is family? Explore the jungles of India with Mowgli as he tries to discover to which family he belongs. Monkey? Wolf? Man? The audience participates as members of the wolf pack as this powerful play unfolds. You’ll come to love his teachers and protectors; Baloo the bear, Bagheera the panther, and Akela the wolf. Laugh at the hijinks of the monkeys and root for Mowgli as he faces his nemesis: the mighty tiger, Shere Khan.

The Emperor is a vain and silly guy – always looking for the most beautiful and expensive new clothing. Along comes two tricksters who fool the Emperor into believing that nothing is something. Will the Emperor’s pride cause him to wander the kingdom in his long johns, or will everyone, including the audience, tell him the naked truth? Presented by Storybook Theater, this is a story about learning from others.

It’s the holiday season, and a Toymaker and his wife have been hard at work building toys to give to boys and girls everywhere. But on the morning they are to be delivered the Toymaker discovers all the toys have disappeared! Can two spunky and very generous Elves save the day?  This holiday musical will remind us that the spirit of giving is the truly greatest gift of all.

One day, he decides to shake things up by yelling “Help – a wolf!” just for fun. The villagers come running, only to discover that Sam has pulled the wool over their eyes. Is telling the truth all it’s cracked up to be?

Brought to life on stage by the AveKids Theater camp participants, James & The Giant Peach will delight all ages. When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean and launches a journey of enormous proportions. James befriends a collection of singing insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean, facing hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements along the way.
