Ave Kids

Auburn AVE Kids showcases local, regional and national acts and touring presentations with an emphasis on audiences ages 4 through 12 and their parents, families, or friends. Most AVE Kids performances take place at Auburn Avenue Theater, located at 10 Auburn Ave, unless otherwise noted.

The AVE Kids performances are included as part of the City's overall BRAVO Performing Arts Season. Purchase several performances together and you are eligible for a discount! For details, view ticket and ordering information.

The Toad Prince

Join us in discovering the secret of happiness as Indri, who watches over the Magical Healing Waters, learns to care more for others than for himself.  Born with the head and hands of a toad, Indri is sad and bitter about his appearance, he wishes to be “beautiful.”  Through acts of kindness, he learns the virtue of benevolence and finally transforms into a human!  Performed by Tears of Joy Theater.

When a contest is set between a fleet-footed Hare and a flat-footed Tortoise, not a creature in the forest believes the ever-steady tortoise will win against the ever-ready Hare. But the forest creatures quickly learn that being slow and steadfast can actually get you to the finish line; while being quick and overly-confident might find you coming in last! Since 1995 the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus has traveled the world, bringing its unique hybrid of Vaudeville, Circus, and Sideshow to theaters, clubs, colleges, and festivals. They  have produced over a dozen Off and Off-Off Broadway shows, custom performances for special audiences, and all-ages family productions. Bindlestiff adds a contemporary twist to the grand traditions of American Circus.

Travel down the rabbit hole and join Alice, one of literature’s most beloved heroines, in her madcap adventures.  Featuring updated songs from Disney’s thrilling animated motion picture, Disney’s Alice in Wonderland JR. is a fast-paced take on the classic tale. The ever-curious Alice’s journey begins innocently enough as she chases the White Rabbit.  Her adventures become increasingly more strange as she races the Dodo Bird, gets tied up with Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, raps with a bubble-blowing Caterpillar and beats the Queen of Hearts at her own game!

Can the Beast learn to love, and be loved?  This classic story of  transformation and tolerance tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.
