Call to Artists

Boards and commissions of the City of Auburn are charged with specialized tasks which provide invaluable aid to the City Council in making sound decisions for the benefit of the City and its residents.  These tasks require specific knowledge, experience and qualifications.  Your experience and skills might be exactly what Auburn needs.

An application can be downloaded (PDF) and submitted to the Mayor's office.  For questions regarding the role and expectations of the Arts Commission, please contact Maija McKnight, Arts Coordinator at 253-804-5043 or via email.  For questions regarding the application process, please contact Tamie Bothell, Executive Assistant to the Mayor, at 253-931-3041 or via email

Calling all Artists and Poets!

Espial:  Taking notice of something; a discovery.

Espial is an award-winning literary and art journal completely produced and published by Green River College students. The journal will feature a special section of art and poetry from the Auburn community in addition to the work of students, faculty, staff and alumni, in order to foster creative dialogue.  We are looking for artist and poet partnerships to create new work specifically for the journal that addresses a sense of place, or encourages dialogue between the college and the community at large.  So, find a creative partner and get to work!   Select collaborations will be professionally published in the journal, featured on public exhibition and presented during the public book release/poetry reading and art event June 2nd, 2016.  There are no restrictions as to media, provided it can be adequately reproduced as text and a digital image in the book. Deadline to submit is 5:00 PM on March 17, 2016. Email for more information and a submission form, like us on Facebook or visit Espial websitelinks to external site
