Presented by Kate McWiggins

Botanist Kate McWiggins is a longtime bee-keeper and member of the American Apitherapy Society. Apitherapy, or “bee therapy” is the medicinal use of products made by honeybees.

Kate will share her extensive knowledge about honeybees; explain why they are so vital to our food supply, and how honeybee venom, honey, pollen, and other bee products have been used since ancient times as a source of natural medicine.

Kate will have samples of bee products for you to try, and purchase if so desired. Cash or checks only please.

This program will be held at Soos Creek Botanical Garden in the Red Barn, adjacent to the parking area.

Soos Creek Botanical Garden and Heritage Center is dedicated to promoting the enjoyment, understanding and conservation of plants and the natural world along with our community’s local history through education, research, and stewardship.
