A festive and fun children's parade, which is followed by community caroling and the lighting of the City Hall Christmas Tree and a spectacular synchronized light show.  


  • Parade line-up begins at 4:00 PM on E Street NE.
    • Check out the Parade Map (PDF)
    • FREE entry open to all children's groups; holiday costumes encourage.
    • Groups must adhere to the Parade Rules & Regulations (PDF)
    • Pre-parade entertainment offered from 4:00 PM - 4:30 PM.     
  • Santa will need an official tree lighter to light the tree in front of City Hall. 
    • Nominate a well-deserving child between the ages of 5-9; one child will be chosen at random and get to meet with Santa and light the tree after the parade! 
    • Nominations accepted through 5:00 PM on Monday, November 27, 2017.

Other holiday activities include:

Holiday Snack and Craft at Washington Elementary, 20 E Street NE.
Event will be held on Saturday, December 2, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM. This is a great opportunity for families to create fun holiday gingerbread houses and ornaments - a warm way to ring in the holidays and a yummy activity prior to the parade.
Admission into the Snack & Craft is $5 at the door. You can pay the Admission in advance at the discounted price of $3/$4 (resident/non-resident) ONLINE, over the phone by calling our Parks Front Desk at 253-931-3043, or in-person at the Auburn Community and Events Center (910 Ninth ST SE, Auburn WA 98002)

Leashed, licensed and well-behaved pets welcome at the Santa Parade & Tree Lighting.
