Winter Registration Is Now Open!

Beginning Mat Pilates - NEW class begins January 8- An introduction to thePilates New basic principles of Pilates for all students. Using a mat and small equipment, you will learn the core fundamentals, proper body alignment and breath awareness. A variety of Pilates exercises designed to improve your core strength, balance and stability will challenge you at your own pace. Mondays, January 8-29.  5:30-6:30 PM. $41/$52.

Yoga for Weight Loss - NEW class begins January 22-Lose weight with a regular yoga practice focused on toning muscles, strengthening the core, and improving flexibility. Mondays, January 22-March 5.  7:00-8:00 PM.  $78/$62.

Yamuna Body Rolling
Yamuna Body Rolling is a revolutionary approach to health and fitness using small balls designed specifically for this practice. This amazing work is a combination of massage, fitness and chiropractic all rolled into one! Using the balls to target specific muscles, we follow the length of the muscle along the bone from its origin to the insertion point. This releases the old patterns of tension we hold in our bodies.   • The Spine: Flexing and bending with ease!    
    Learn the common source of low back pain and the routines that help offer relief. Reduce tension in your neck by freeing up the ribs, and releasing the upper back. We will move up the entire spine with these Yamuna routines and you will stand taller and move with much greater ease! Wednesday, February 21.  6:00-7:45 PM.  $47/$59.
  • Lower Body: Releasing the hips, knees and ankles  
    Sitting, standing and walking are movements we do every day and holding tension in the joints can, over time, result in wearing down of our joints. We will follow the entire chain up the legs and into the pelvis, resulting in an amazing feeling of freedom in the hips and low back.  We will learn routines you can do yourself at home to help keep your body balanced and walking pain free.  Wednesday, February 28.  6:00-7:45 PM $47/$59.
  • Upper Body: Releasing Tension in the upper body
    Do you sit at a computer all day? Carry stress and tension in your shoulders? The forward and downward pull on the body is a result of patterns of our daily life and can result in unexpected neck and shoulder pain. It also compresses our ribs and organs resulting in digestive stress. We will focus on routines to open the ribs and upper back. Take a deep breath and feel the tension melt away! Any or all of our five Food for Thought workshops are just for you. With a mix of hands-on kitchen and classroom time, you will discover the best ways to fuel your body, get the most bang for your buck at the grocery store, prep meals for the week, and much more!

  • Myth Busters: Nutrition Edition
    Learn to distinguish between fact and fiction regarding fad diets, super foods, industry health claims, and other commonly held beliefs about healthy eating.  Tuesday, January 23.  6:00-7:00 PM.  $5/$7.
  • Meal Prep Madness!
    Learn the basics of prepping food for the week and find delicious recipes to capitalize on the little time you have to spend in the kitchen after the weekend.  Tuesday, February 6. 6:00-7:00 PM. $5/$7.
  • Trendy and Thrifty Shopping
    Learn about in-season produce and other ways to stay on budget while eating a healthy variety of foods. Tuesday, February 20.  6:00-7:00 PM.  $5/$7.
  • In & Out: Grocery Style
    We’ll start of the workshop in the classroom going over the foundations of heathy eating. Next, we’ll take a trip to the local grocery store for a tour and learn ways to make your trips to the supermarket more effective and the efficient. Finally, we’ll put your newfound grocery store savvy to the test with a shopping challenge. Tuesday, February 27.  6:00-8:00 PM.  $5/$7.
  • The Breakfast Club
    Learn why breakfast truly is the most important meal of the day and find steps you can take to ensure you don’t have to skip it no matter how little time you have. Tuesday, March 6.  6:00-7:00 PM.  $5/$7.
  • Craving Crushers
    Learn why our bodies itch for certain foods and discover fun and healthy ways to crush those cravings. Tuesday, March 20.  6:00-7:00 PM.  $5/$7.

Meditation Workshop - Meditation is an invaluable tool for self-inquiry and insMeditation_2ight as well as a pathway for releasing obstacles to health and well-being. Science has begun to document the many benefits of meditation. It increases concentration and focus, reduces anxiety and stress. Creativity, compassion and memory are all enhanced through a meditation practice. In this workshop we will play with different techniques to aid in your process of developing awareness and inner peace. Give yourself this time to cultivate a quiet place within.  No experience necessary.  Workshop will include Instruction in basic meditation practices and how to know "if you're doing it right", time to practice, and  support from other meditators.  Thursday, January 25.  7:00-8:30 PM.  $21/$26.

Guitar Classes

  • Beginning Guitar - Want to be in a rock 'n' roll band? You'll need to learn to play guitar. We'll teach you basic chords and strumming techniques. Guitars are provided. If you have your own, that's cool too! Thursdays, February 1-March 8.  6:00-7:00 PM. $47/$59.
  • Intermediate Guitar - Next class begins February 1! Do you know a couple of chords? Can you play a song or two? Join us for continuing guitar. It's open to teens and adults who want to be better pickers and strummers. Thursdays, February 1-March 8. 7:00-8:00 PM.  $47/$59.

Trips & Tours

  • Mt. Rainier Family Snowshoe - Let it Snow! We'll trek through new territory as we take our SnowshoeSnowshoe Adventure into the Mt. Rainier National Park. This family friendly trail is the perfect opportunity to try snowshoeing for the first time while you take in the beautiful snowy scenery and search for wildlife in the old growth forest! All snowshoe gear and instruction will be provided by the National Park Service. We'll provide the coffee and cocoa to warm you up for the drive home! Please bring a sack lunch, water bottle, snacks for the drive home, sturdy waterproof boots/shoes and appropriate winter attire.

Art and Writing Classes

Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation also offers various sport leagues through the year, allowing you to get active and have fun in a group and team setting.
