Join the Parks team with a FREE, weekly running group in Les Gove Park.  All fitness levels are welcome.  Whether you're looking for a running community, need to increase motivation, or need a little accountability in your runs, you'll find it here! 


NEW! Self Defense for Women- Whether you're walking to your car from campus or going for a run, every single woman should feel capable of protecting herself from an assailant, regardless of the reason behind the attack.  This crash course in the basics of self-defense will teach you the most common ways people are attacked, and the best strategies of self-defense and reaction.  By the end of the course you'll feel knowledgeable, practiced and confident that you can ward of an assailant should you ever need to.  Course is taught by a female instructor.  Ages 18-40.  $58/$73.

Beginning Mat Pilates - NEW class begins April 2- An introduction to the basic principles of Pilates for all students. Using a mat and small equipment, you will learn the core fundamentals, proper body alignment and breath awareness. A variety of Pilates exercises designed to improve your core strength, balance and stability will challenge you at your own pace. Mondays, April 2-23,  5:30-6:30 PM, $41/$52.Tai Chi

NEW! Tai Chi in the Park - Tai Chi students enjoy  both mental and physical benefits including strengthening, flexibility and coordination.  Students learn gentle exercises and the practice of individual movements.  Class will take place in Les Gove Park behind the Community Center.  Mondays, June 25-July 30, 6:00-7:00 PM.  Ages 14 and up.  $30/$38.

Are you interested in taking steps towards a healthier lifestyle? Any or all of our five Food for Thought workshops are just for you. With a mix of hands-on kitchen and classroom time, you will discover the best ways to fuel your body, get the most bang for your buck at the grocery store, prep meals for the week, and much more!

  • Trendy and Thrifty Shopping - Learn about in-season produce and other ways to stay on budget while eating a healthy variety of foods. Tuesday, March 20,  6:00-7:00 PM,  $5/$7.
  • Making the Short List - Learn how to repurpose a short list of ingredients to simplify your trip to the grocery store and keep your meal prep interesting.  Thursday, April 12, 6:00-7:00 PM, $5/$7.
  • Undercover Produce - Not crazy about fruits & veggies?  Or, looking to increase your intake?  Learn creative ways to sneak them into your everyday meals without noticing them.  Thursday, April 19, 6:00-7:00 PM, $5/$7.
  • Crash Course: Micros & Macros - And we're not talking about economics!  Learn about the basics of how the nutrients in our food are classified and what you need to maintain a healthy life.  Thursday, May 3, 6:00-7:00 PM, $5/$7.
  • Fueling for Fitness - Learn the importance of proper hydration and good pre and post-workout food choices in order to keep your body performing at its peak.  Thursday, May 17, 6:00-7:00 PM, $5/$7.
  • Taste the Rainbow - Summer is primetime for a lot of awesome produce like berries, melon, tomatoes, and greens.  Learn fun and delicious ways to prepare and preserve grocery, farmers market, or your garden harvest.  Thursday, June 7, 6:00-7:00 PM.  $5/$7.


Guitar Classes

  • Beginning Guitar - Want to be in a rock 'n' roll band? You'll need to learn to play guitar. We'll teach you basic chords and strumming techniques. Guitars are provided. If you have your own, that's cool too! Thursdays, March 22-April 26,  6:00-7:00 PM, $47/$59.
  • Intermediate Guitar - Next class begins February 1! Do you know a couple of chords? Can you play a song or two? Join us for continuing guitar. It's open to teens and adults who want to be better pickers and strummers. Thursdays, March 22-April 26, 7:00-8:00 PM, $47/$59.

Trips & Tours

Take A Hike!  Cherry Creek Falls - Take a hike in the Central Cascades on the Cherry Creek Falls Trail.  This 5 mile round trip hike features a stop at the Cherry Creek Falls midway through.  Grab your family or a friend, pack water and a lunch, and join us rain or shine!  Saturday, April 21, 11:00 AM-4:00 PM.  $5/$7.  Ages 4 & up.

Take A Hike! Wildside Trail - Take a walk on the wild side at Cougar Mountain.  This 4.2 mile hike on the Wildside Trail features a view of the De Leo Wall, an ancient formation of magma, after crossing the Coal Creek Bridge.  Don't forget a pair of comfortable hiking shoes or boots, weather appropriate layers, lunch, and water!  Saturday, May 12, 11:00 AM-4:00 PM.  Fee: $5/$7.  Ages 4 & up.

NEW! Family Rails & Trails - Join in on the fun on this new Family Adventure Series trip that takes you to the falls - Snoqualmie Falls!  We'll hike the trails and explore the Falls before a picnic lunch.  Then it's off to the town of Snoqualmie to the Historic Snoqualmie Depot to board the train for the round trip train ride to North Bend.  Fun for all ages!  Bring a sack lunch, comfortable shoes for walking and dress for the weather.  Saturday, April 28, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM.  Ages 4 and up.  $30/$38.

The MakerSpace offers a myriad of classes throughout the year! Learn how to use fun new technology to create wonderful gifts, keepsakes, arts & crafts. Check out the MakerSpace page for more details. 

Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation also offers various sport leagues through the year, allowing you to get active and have fun in a group and team setting.
