The City of Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Division offers various classes and programs include fitness and wellness classes, dance, community interest, arts and music, and others. Programs vary with each new registration session and may include:

Outdoor YogaShape Up Auburn Begins June 26th with Free Fitness in the Parks!

Shape Up Auburn brings four FREE fitness classes to Les Gove and Sunset Parks this summer, June 26- August 3 from 6:00-7:00 PM. Classes are for all ages - youth ages 12 and under must be accompanied by a participating adult.  All fitness levels are welcome.

  • Boot Camp in Les Gove Park

    **Please bring a yoga mat, beach towel, or blanket for your practice.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi is back at Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation

Give Tai Chi a try at a FREE demo on Monday, June 19 at 6:00 PM in the Auburn Community & Event Center.  Then, join us every Monday for a six-week FREE series in Les Gove Park from 6:00-7:00 PM as part of the Shape Up Auburn program.  Tai Chi provides both mental and physical benefits!  Learn gentle exercises and the practice of individual movements.  All ages and fitness levels are welcome.

  • Beginning Pilates Mat - New session begins September 11!
    Controlled movements focus on stretching and strengthening the muscles in your abdomen, back, gluteals and legs.
    Mondays, September 11-October 2, 5:30 PM- 6:30 PM.  $41/$52.
  • Mindfulness & Meditation -  New session begins October 12!
    Meditation is an invaluable tool for self-inquiry and insight as well as a pathway for releasing obstacles to health and well-being.  Science has begun to document the many benefits of meditation.  It increases concentration and focus, reduces anxiety and stress.  Creativity, compassion and memory are all enhanced through a meditation practice.  In this class we will play with different techniques to aid in your process of developing awareness and inner peace.  Give yourself this hour to cultivate a quiet place within.  No experience necessary. 
    Thursdays, October 12- November 16, 7:00 PM- 8:00 PM.  $68/$85. 
  • Yoga for Weight Loss - New session starts October 23! 
    Lose weight with a regular yoga practice to focus on toning muscles, strengthening the core, and improving flexibility. 
    Mondays, October 23-November 27, 7:00 PM- 8:00 PM.  $62/$78. 
  • Sofa Zero to 5k Hero - New session starts September 30!
    Want to run a 5k?  We'll provide all the coaching and then some in this supportive small group program!  Join the Sofa Zero to 5k Hero and in 8 weeks we'll give you all the tools you need to go from walking to running.  No experience necessary!  Fee includes "5k Hero" t-shirt. 
    Saturdays, September 30-November 18, 9:00 AM-10:30 AM.  $25/$32.

  • Knitting classes - Introductory and intermediate levels classes, learn the basics and continue to expand your knowledge base.

Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation also offers various sport leagues through the year, allowing you to get active and have fun in a group and team setting.
