The City of Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Division offers various classes and programs include fitness and wellness classes, dance, community interest, arts and music, dog obedience and others. Programs vary with each new registration session and may include:

Outdoor YogaShape Up Auburn Begins June 26th with Free Fitness in the Parks!

Shape Up Auburn brings four FREE fitness classes to Les Gove and Sunset Parks this summer, June 26- August 3 from 6:00-7:00 PM.   Classes are for all ages - youth ages 12 and under must be accompanied by a participating adult.  All fitness levels are welcome. 

  • Tai Chi in Les Gove Park

    Mondays, June 26-July 31
  • Zumba in Sunset Park

    Tuesdays, June 27-August 1
  • Boot Camp in Les Gove Park

    Wednesdays, June 28-August 2
  • Yoga in Sunset Park

    Thursdays, June 29-August 3 
    **Please bring a yoga mat, beach towel, or blanket for your practice.



Tai ChiTai Chi is back at Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation

Give Tai Chi a try at a FREE demo on Monday, June 19 at 6:00 PM in the Auburn Community & Event Center.  Then, join us every Monday for a six-week FREE series in Les Gove Park from 6:00-7:00 PM as part of the Shape Up Auburn program.  Tai Chi provides both mental and physical benefits!  Learn gentle exercises and the practice of individual movements.  All ages and fitness levels are welcome.

  • Beginning Pilates Mat - New session begins July 10!
    Controlled movements focus on stretching and strengthening the muscles in your abdomen, back, gluteals and legs. This is a 3 week class.
  • Yoga - New session starts June 14!
    Relieves emotional stress, tones the body, achieves balance in mind and body.
  • Belly Dance - New session starts July 19! 
    Middle Eastern belly dance is a low impact form of dance appropriate for all ages and body types and backgrounds.  Learn the history, basic movements, isolation techniques and more.  All shapes, body types and genders welcome.
  • Art and writing classes
  • Knitting classes - Introductory and intermediate levels classes, learn the basics and continue to expand your knowledge base.

Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation also offers various sport leagues through the year, allowing you to get active and have fun in a group and team setting.
