Transportation Plan Update - We Need Your Help!

The City is updating its Comprehensive Transportation Plan to include the recently annexed Lea Hill and West Hill areas. The Comprehensive Transportation Plan is the long-range vision for how the City’s transportation system will develop. It is a multi-modal plan, containing policies and technical information relating to the street system, transit, and non-motorized travel. The Plan was thoroughly updated in 2005. The 2008 update will incorporate the Lea Hill and West Hill areas into the plan, as well as make minor modifications to other areas of the plan.

Why is your input important?

Because you know your neighborhood the best! The plan will identify transportation needs and long-term solutions. We need you to tell us what your transportation needs are, whether they relate to the street system, pedestrian travel, bicycling, or transit.

Public Meetings

Please attend one of our three neighborhood meetings. The meetings will focus on the neighborhood where they are held, but they are open to everyone. Refreshments will be served.

Vanshare

Metro Transit, in partnership with the City of Auburn, is offering commuters an alternative for getting to and from the Auburn Transit Station. VanShare is a shared van service that takes commuters from their home to the transit station, where they can catch the train or bus to work.

The van is driven by a fellow commuter and is parked at the Auburn Transit Station until the commuters return to the Transit Station in the evening. Metro Transit provides the van, financial incentives for signing up to ride or drive a van, and RESERVED PARKING at the Auburn Transit Station!

Sign up to ride today at 800-427-8249 or go to www.RideshareOnline.com.
