CP2116 - R St SE / 29th St SE Intersection Improvements

The City of Auburn is currently in the design phase of the R Street SE Improvements project. As part of the design process, the City of Auburn’s survey crew will be utilizing various survey equipment to collect data along R Street SE. This survey work is necessary in order to begin the design process.

Project Limits:
R Street SE from approximately 22th St SE to the White River Bridge.

Schedule:
Design Work Beginning Spring 2022
Construction To Begin in 2024

Additional Project Information:
This project will improve R Street SE by adding a southbound lane from 22nd Street SE to 33rd Street SE. The existing traffic signal at 29th Street SE will be replaced to accommodate the additional lane. The project will also provide a new roadway surface on R Street SE from 22nd Street SE to the White River Bridge. Curb ramps will be replaced as needed in order to meet American Disability Act (ADA) accessibility requirements. Underground utility systems (i.e. storm drainage, sewer pipe, and water lines) will also be replaced as needed.

Community input is important to the success of this project. You will be provided progress updates periodically throughout the project as well as the opportunity to ask questions and voice your support or concerns about this project. More information on this will be provided at a later date.
