Grace lived a full life, including pirating up and down the Irish coast, an army of 200 loyal fighting men, her own fleet of ships, two marriages, four children (one born while Grace was at sea), and even a documented face-to-face meeting with Queen Elizabeth I.

Twisted Flicks

Twisted Flicks
Twisted Flicks (from the creators of Jet City Improv) is a movie experience like none other! A combination of live improv and great old “B” movies, this comedy experience is a unique and original production you can only see here! A classic, cheesy “B” movie is shown on our full-sized, in-house movie screen without its original sound. The Flick team of professional improvisers sits in the front row and creates all new dialog, sound effects and music live - all based on suggestions from that night’s audience. The show is fun, fast-paced, funny and suitable for all ages.

Footloose_Image

Auburn Community Players presents Footloose

One of the most explosive movie musicals in recent memory bursts onto the live stage with exhilarating results. When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, Ren is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. What he isn’t prepared for are the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, determined to exercise the control over the town’s youth that he cannot command in his own home. When the reverend’s rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren’s reputation, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid. The heartfelt story that emerges is of a father longing for the son he lost and of a young man aching for the father who walked out on him. To the rockin’ rhythm of its Oscar and Tony-nominated top 40 score (the soundtrack album reached number one on the Billboard charts and has sold over 15 million copies!) and augmented with dynamic new songs for the stage musical, FOOTLOOSE celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people, guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind.

About the Auburn Avenue Theater

For over 30 years, the Auburn Avenue Theater has presented a diversity of live performances, including Broadway musicals, mystery theater, children's theater, and concerts. The Douglas family, producers of the fine dinner theater featured at the Auburn Avenue Theater for over 20 years, leased the venue to the City of Auburn to continue operating as a performing arts space. In 2007 The City of Auburn reopened the venue, expanding this time-honored tradition of live, quality performing arts, variety entertainment, children's shows, dance and music, right in the heart of downtown Auburn.

History in the Making

The theater building itself is over 80 years old, however, the first structure to occupy the property over 100 years ago was a carriage house for horses. When the automobile replaced horses as the major mode of transportation, the building was entirely reconstructed as the city's bus depot. New owners converted it to a movie house in the 1940s and continued operating it as such until the mid-70s, when it underwent yet another conversion, this time as a performing arts theater venue. Since then, The Auburn Avenue Theater has presented 27 seasons of dinner theater, the last of its kind in Western Washington.
