The Almost 5K Poker Fun Run & Walk is an in-person fun run perfect for all ages and abilities!

Early registration includes a t-shirt and participation medal. Payment must accompany registration.

ROUTE

The Almost 5K Poker Fun Run & Walk is an easy run around Les Gove Park. This fun run will utilize the big loop at Les Gove Park. Five loops around is “almost” a 5K (short of a 5K by 1,138 feet). For each lap around the loop, participants will stop, choose a card, and try to get the best poker hand with the five cards drawn. 

RULES OF PARTICIPATION & AWARDS

  • The route will be open  from 7 PM - 8:30 PM 
  • Participants must draw 5 cards total, one upon completion of each large loop at Les Gove Park, to create their final poker hand  
  • Strollers are welcome on the course (please note, children not pushed in a stroller must be a paying participant in the race).
  • Awards will be distributed to the top 8 poker hands
  • Awards will be announced the following Monday via email and social media 
  • Parking information and more details will be emailed to participants the week of the event.
  • Participants should not attend the event if they feel sick, or believe they may have been exposed to COVID-19. Should this be the case, you can make arrangements to pick-up your packet at a later time.

Join us at our Halloween Harvest Festival and Les Gove Park Truck-or-Treat for kids ages 2-10 and their families.

This fun-filled fall afternoon will include games, cauldrons of punch and a fun Trunk-or-Treat experience around the trail at Les Gove Park. Your little goblin will not want to miss this event! Bring a can of food for admission to support the Auburn Food Bank. 

Looking to participate with a truck from your organization?
Participating trunks can register for free but must provide giveaways and/or treats for the youth participants visiting the event. Participants may also provide informational materials about their programs. Prizes will be awarded to the most creative (fun, not scary) trunk. Participating organizations are also encouraged to dress up in costumes appropriate for a 2-10 year-old audience. The youth attending the event will Trunk-or-Treat around the path in Les Gove Park and enjoy outdoor music and fun.

Auburn's 57th annual Veterans Parade & Observance

Main Street

Auburn, Washington is typically designated by the Veterans Day National Committee and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as a Regional Site for the celebration of Veterans Day. The City of Auburn is proud to be a Vietnam War Commemorative Partner and considers it an honor and privilege to host this annual event. Auburn has hosted the Veterans Parade since 1965. Now in its 57th year, the parade has grown into one of the largest parades of its kind in the United States of America.

The purpose of Auburn's Veterans Parade & Observance is to positively focus on honoring our country's veterans and active military personnel. Through our parade, we focus recognition on congressionally-recognized Veteran Service Organizations and their auxiliaries, the military and military reserve, National Guard and ROTC. The goals and purposes of Auburn's Veterans Parade & Observance are to give honor to our country's veterans and to their military missions of defending freedom around the world. 

We are currently planning for the 57th annual Veterans Parade to be held in Auburn on Saturday, November 5, starting at 11:00 AM. The parade typically boasts over 200 units and nearly 6,000 parade participants, including 25+ marching bands, military vehicles, veterans' units, honor guards and more. The parade route travels along Main Street from E Street to A Street NW/SW.

Reserve (PDF) your spot early for this year's Veterans Luncheon, held after the conclusion of the parade. Host location is just two blocks from the Dignitary Stand. The lunch program honors our Veterans, with special recognition given to our Dignitaries in attendance. The Governor's Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee's Outstanding Service to Veterans Award Recipients will be honored at the lunch, along with other special presentations. The luncheon is co-sponsored by the Auburn Noon Lions and the City of Auburn. 

 "Our Heroes | Our Parade" Banner Tribute Program

This program was created to recognize and pay tribute to the brave men and women in Auburn who are serving, have served, or have given their life to our country in the United States Armed Forces. It also provides an opportunity for individuals, businesses and Veteran Service Organizations to support those who served by sponsoring a banner in downtown Auburn. The City is now accepting applications for the 2022 season. Application deadline is Friday, August 19, 2022. Please complete and return the application (PDF) with applicable banner fee and supporting documents.

Take some time to thank a Veteran for their service and sacrifice.

Voting will be open December 1 - 17, 2022 during normal business hours at the Auburn Community & Events Center.

Open Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 7 PM & Saturdays, 8 AM - 4 PM.


There are three categories to vote in, youth, adult, and Battle of the Badges! The winner in each category will be selected by votes from the public. 

Contest rules & requirements:

  • All entries must have a base no larger than 2'x2' 
  • Entry must be appropriate for audiences of all ages.
  • Entry must be original and built in 2022.
  • Entry must be 90% edible on the exterior.
  • Any structure - real or imaginary is eligible for entry i.e. house, train, igloo, spaceship, etc.
  • The City of Auburn reserves the right to remove any entry from display at any time, for any reason, and at its sole discretion.
  • Displays must be dropped off at the Community & Events Center on Monday, November 28 or Tuesday, November 29 by 7:00 PM.

A winner will be announced on Monday, December 19, 2022.

Santa Parade & Tree Lighting

Auburn's Lighted Santa Parade & Tree Lighting event returns! 
From Auburn High School to City Hall, lighted entries will fill Main Street with holiday joy! 

Santa Parade

Beginning at 4:30 PM the parade will feature lighted vehicles, floats, cars, and walking entries. All community, families, non-profits, and businesses are welcome to participate. All entries wishing to participate in the parade must register in advance by Wednesday, November 30, 2022. 

All entries must have a lighted element.

Join us for live music before and after the parade at City Hall. Then watch as the community brings out their lighted holiday parade entries! We'll wrap up the event with the annual tree lighting at City hall plus a visit from Santa. 

As of September 7, 2021 we are required to follow the King County mask mandate, which states the following: Masks are required at any outdoor event with 500 or more people in attendance. This requirement applies to all people, both vaccinated and unvaccinated, 5-years of age and older. The vaccination verification/proof of negative test is NOT required for this particular outdoor event.
