The City of Auburn is planning a small-scale pet vendor event. While this is not to be confused with the grandiose Petpalooza festival, Happy Paws will give you an opportunity to visit some vendors and stock up on some of your favorite items in a safe, outdoor environment.

The event site will be completely fenced, so the number of attendees can be monitored in accordance with state guidelines. The event will also be taking the following safety precautions:

  • Limiting attendance inside fenced area to current state guidelines
  • In accordance to the Governor's orders, masks/face coverings are required by all attendees, staff and vendors inside the event area
  • One entrance and one exit
  • One way flow of traffic - so you can be prepared, here's a list of our Vendors and the items they plan to have available
  • There will be a maximum of 45 vendors, who will be separated by 10' per vendors space
  • Social distancing indicators will be placed at each vendor booth
  • Vendors are required to provide a 'U-shaped' set-up; thus no attendees will be allowed under canopies
  • Hand sanitizer available at entrance and exit

At this time, there will be no entertainment or other attractions. Of course, leashed, licensed and well-behaved pets are welcome.

Happy Paws Vendor Application (PDF)
Happy Paws Event Map (PDF) - please note the one entrance, one exit and the one-way flow of traffic. Vendor booths will be placed 10' apart and social distancing indicators will be painted on the ground to help guide physical distancing requirements.

Another piece of paws-itive news: we are currently accepting registrations for the Dog Trot 3K/5K Fun Run. It is currently being planned as a virtual event. If restrictions are lifted and we are able to safely host the Dog Trot in-person, we will do our best to switch to an in-person model. If you'd like to remain virtual, we can accommodate that too! Registrations accepted through April 22 for Auburn's Dog Trot.

Since 2008, Auburn’s Petpalooza has been a bright spot for thousands of animal lovers and their furry companions. Although we cannot celebrate with our traditional Petpalooza festival in 2021, please know that we’re committed to future festivals and look forward to Auburn’s Petpalooza 2022.

Squirrely Summer Scavenger Hunt

various parks & trails - see below

Squirrely Summer Scavenger Hunt
Thursday, July 1 - Sunday, July 11

Jump around Auburn's parks and trails in search of the elusive squirrel, who's packed his bags and is ready for a sizzlin' summer! This nutty squirrel will be hidden in various parks and trails in Auburn, beginning July 1 - July 11. Find the squirrel, have a chance to win prizes and have a blast while doing it! This will be a fun and safe event for families, Seniors, our Specialized Recreation community or anyone looking for an opportunity to get outside and get active in an outdoor setting.

Here's how it works:

1. Print the Nutty Scorecard (PDF), if you wish, or bring something on your search to track your squirrels such as a notepad and pen, a phone or tablet. NOTE: you do not to email scorecards.  Submit details on the On-line Scorecard Submission Form (available July 1). Printed scorecards (for tracking purposes only) will also be available at:

  • Auburn Community & Event Center, 910 Ninth Street SE, in a pamphlet holder, June 30 - July 11.

2. At 8:00 AM on Wednesday, June 30, we will announce the list of parks and trails where squirrels are hiding. Note: for those of you with special needs, two of the locations will have more accessible squirrels, which are in view from the trail/path to accommodate wheelchairs, strollers and wagons.

Squirrely Summer3. All squirrels will look like this sample squirrel image. They are about 12-inches tall. Each squirrel has a unique number. Please don't take or move the squirrels so everyone can enjoy this COVID-19 safe activity. Since the squirrels will be hiding for an extended period of time, it is important to leave the squirrels in their location, to keep them safe from mowers and other maintenance equipment.

4. Search for squirrels during park hours July 1 - July 11. You will need to find 10 squirrels. Print our Scorecard or bring something to track your squirrels!

6. Complete the Online Nutty Scorecard Submission Form (available July 1). The on-line scorecard will contain contact information and 10 spaces to indicate the squirrels that you found. There will also be the opportunity to share event photos or comments with us. We enjoy hearing from you! The on-line scorecard will be available until 11:59 PM on Sunday, July 11. Sorry, no late entries.

5. Winners will be selected at random and emailed by Wednesday, July 14.

Prizes include the following items:

Dueling CroonersBuy Tickets - Tickets on Sale June 1, 2021

Single $1

Chris Anderson and Joey Jewell’s "Dueling Crooners"is nothing short of a swingin' time trip back to the Las Vegas Strip. Their performance is true to the incomparable phrasing and vocal texture of Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin and Michael Buble. They evoke the swaggering spirit of Ol' Blue Eyes and Vegas in their heyday. And Wayne Ledbetter's band has the energy and excitement to keep you going all night, wonderfully smooth and sophisticated arrangements, and the musical chops and passion to play it all.

The show is smart, funny, and a wonderful tribute to the lost art of livin' it up. You'll feel like you're in "The Big Room" at the Sands and life is good.

Auburn's 56th annual Veterans Parade & Observance

Main Street

Auburn, Washington is typically designated by the Veterans Day National Committee and the US Department of Veterans Affairs as a Regional Site for the celebration of Veterans Day. The City of Auburn is proud to be a Vietnam War Commemorative Partner and considers it an honor and privilege to host this annual event. Auburn has hosted the Veterans Parade since 1965. Now in its 56th year, the parade has grown into one of the largest parades of its kind in the United States of America.

The purpose of Auburn's Veterans Parade & Observance is to positively focus on honoring our country's veterans and active military personnel. Through our parade, we focus recognition on congressionally-recognized Veteran Service Organizations and their auxiliaries, the military and military reserve, National Guard and ROTC. The goals and purposes of Auburn's Veterans Parade & Observance are to give honor to our country's veterans and to their military missions of defending freedom around the world.

We are currently planning for the 56th annual Veterans Parade to be held in Auburn on Saturday, November 6, starting at 11:00 AM. The parade typically boasts over 200 units and nearly 6,000 parade participants, including 25+ marching bands, military vehicles, veterans' units, honor guards and more.

The parade route travels along Main Street from E Street to A Street NW/SW. To participate in Auburn's Veterans Parade, complete and return the official Parade Application Form or complete the on-line registration (available in Fall 2021).
