Human Services

The City of Auburn's mission with regards to human services is to reduce the number of people who are living in poverty. Towards this end, the City provides funding to agencies that can assist members of the community who, for one reason or another, are in need - either temporarily or more long-term.

Working together with other service providers, the City of Auburn offers its residents a wide range of vital human services. The City consistently allocates the maximum amount allowed of its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to human services. In addition, it budgets approximately three quarters of one percent of its general fund expenditures for grants to local human service agencies.
