About Us

The Auburn Specialized Recreation Program offers a variety of events and activities for individuals with developmental, intellectual, and physical disabilities.  People with disabilities are NOT limited to these programs.  These programs offer recreational, educational, enrichment, and social opportunities.  We also offer year-round sports programs, competitions, and tournaments.  

FAQ

Registration: Individuals must pre-register for all programs.  There are three ways to register:

  1. Call the Parks Mainline at 253-931-3043
  2. Visit the front desk at the Auburn Community & Event Center
  3. Register online at www.auburnwa.gov/play*

*online registration is not available for DDA billing.

DDA Billing & Payments:

We accept DDA billing for registrations.  If you are eligible through DDA please be prepared to give your case manager's name and contact information so billing information can be approved at the time of registration.

Fee Waivers and Adult Scholarships:

Everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy a recreational experience, even if money is a major concern. You must reside within the Auburn city limits to qualify. Please be prepared to provide proof of residency and income verification for the past three months. Contact us for more information, application forms are available at the Community & Event Center.

Accessibility: We welcome kids who use wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility aids. If your child has specific mobility needs or requires any accommodations to participate, please call 253-293-4301.

Join us for our three-week adaptive summer series, where youth ages 8–14 will enjoy a rotating lineup of themed activities including hands-on crafts, movement-based games, and water play. Each session is intentionally designed to support motor and social skill development in a welcoming, inclusive environment where every participant can engage at their own pace and have fun.

Beginners Ballet | Mondays | 11:00-11:45AM
Join us for this into to ballet and creative movement class. Little ones will practice tiptoeing, twirling, stretching, and dancing as we cultivate a love for movement in a fun and supportive environment.

MoveZone | Ages 6-10 | Tuesdays | 5:30-6:30 PM
Let’s run, jump, crawl, tumble, and dance! This high-energy, fitness-themed class encourages youth to move, explore, and play. Participants will enjoy obstacle courses, tumbling challenges, basic stretching, and dance activities.
