"Raghava Lahari"
A Kathak Presentation

Join us for a Kathak presentation (Indian classical dance form). "Raghava Lahari" is an evocative Kathak recital that weaves together music, movement, and storytelling to celebrate the divine virtues, love, and triumphs of Lord Rama and Sita, presented by Pooja Ganesh under the guidance of her Gurus Smt.Nirupama Rajendra and Shri.T.D.Rajendra, featuring a live music ensemble by Ravi Albright and Sampada Bhalerao. The recital draws inspiration from the iconic hymn "Raghupati Raghava Rajaram", a deeply spiritual composition whose original lyrics are preserved, respecting its traditional and cultural significance.

The recital incorporates the concept of Lehera or Lahariโ€”melodic phrases played on the sitar in and related to Raga Garaโ€”to serve as interludes. These laharis connect the dancerโ€™s transitions between singing and enacting, creating a seamless flow between vocal devotion and expressive storytelling. Each scene unveils a new chapter in the divine narrative.
